Phew.. just finish writing my resignation letter. I have finally make my decision to quit my current job and to go over to Lotus office to work. Guess the mention of working in an organisation by such name, many would respond with a "huh' or with a "what's your workplace name again" or scratch their head, when i reply to people of my workplace.
Oh well, guess i got to learn to be humble at times likes this. As during school days, i always day dream about working in big organisations. I mean it just feel good when you mention a well known name to people and you can say it in a way with your face beaming in pride.
Big organisation pays well though there are exceptions, and they have better benefits.
I never give it a though to work in a unmentioned or unheard of Company name when i applied for jobs when i just graduate. There's something in me to wanting to be acknowledged.
So well, this time even if no one understands, i would just tell them.. "you know, in Clarke Quay, there's this 2 big boats for Dining?" Yeah, that is one of the 3 restaurants that is under the management of my boss.
Unless that person never step his foot into Clarke Quay before, they would respond with a "Ohh, that one ah."
Then only i would knod my head and beam in pride.
Somebody give me a humble Pie.
It was hard to make a decision, and a decision which cause me no regrets in future. Yesterday, i was basically getting totally stressed up in making the right one and wherether my decision will be a footstool to the corporate ladder or will i end up taking backward steps.
I just needed someone to listen and give me good advice.
Took out my phone and msg my "bro", Royston.
Being the nice guy that he is, despite the fact that he's in school at 11pm plus and rushing to hand in his project the day after. He was willing to lend me his ears.. and thus on and on i went and lament to him all of my difficulties and the points i got to consider if i were to leave.
He listened to me patiently and shared with me his experiences, though he haven't enter into the work force, he relates the decision that he has to make when he chose to study Arts in NTU.
he mentions an illustration form that struck me:
If i were to go overseas & shop and along the way i saw a top which i have love at 1st sight but did not buy it as i did not have enough cash with me. Even back home, on the airplane, the top have never left my thought, i would definently regret not buying it.
Therefore it meant: I would rather regret much later in buying the dress then to have regrets not buying it at all.
Maybe some would beg to differ. But i believe in this term myself:
You Never try, You never Know.
Yeah, i Thank God for a friend like him.
A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeedz.
*Crossing my fingers* - I have already lost a good buddy-ship, may there never be a time when i would lose my friendship with him"
He's by far the only one left whom i can run to when i am very troubled and always never fail to make me feel better after hanging up the phone.
May God Bless this friendship till the very end..
