Had a pretty bad experience last night as can be seen from my Facebook status:

Taking OUR IDEA and saying it's YRS is so TOTALLY UNCOOL & UNGENTLEMAN & YOU PISSED ME OFF! JUz Because u're think we're simple & nice and U can step Over US!

I got to clarify that it really takes a bad experience for me to be this Angry..

The guy in question is one of my committee member in Sadeaf group.. he being the intial President before the re-voting,  and me being the Vice-president,had work closely with him for the very first event, discussing over the preparation works to be done up, the proposal for the event to turn out well.

This dude probably be one of my volunteering khaki if not for this incident turn-out.. 

After the vote was made, due to the fact that the President preferably be a deaf, his position changed to Vice-president and thus there's two person sitting in that post, he and me.

Since it's been a long while since the last event till now, thus we decide to have a meeting to uphold another event real soon.. and to make the story short..

 The President and me had came up with an event  for the upcoming June holidays for the HI... so when i saw him on sat to volunteer for another charity organisation, shared with him on our idea and proposed to work together with the charity organisation. 

Before leaving, i had told him to send us (meaning the President & me) his ideas on this event, since he was unable to join us for our upcoming meeting.

The instruction was clear and simple.. send us your ideas of the event..

and guess what?! Imagine my horror when i checked my mail and saw what he wrote:

" i am proposing and coming up with a draft of a much anticipated event;(event's title) .

This is just a draft based on my own ideas to help the S & L team get started..."

Any normal human being reaction on this sentence would probably be " Draft based on your own Idea?!"

And mind you, he actually interpret "send us" into sending it to other committee members and even  cc the Chairman for this plan!

I was flabbergasted! So what does he wants?! Any idiot would probably understand my instructions loud and clear!

With all Sanity intact, i re-read his e-mail once again (that is after making tt phone call which makes me furious to the core, he probably never hear this tone of mine before and rarely does any of my frens does)..

Unless he had applied Da Vinci Code to his e-mail, there's no implications that he's trying to say that he's adding his own plans to our  original idea..(that's his own explanation).. any reader probably would think the event is his own idea!

Mind you, it wasn't the fact that we're mad about he taking credits for this Event idea.. but simply, why the POLICTICS GAME!

I hate that to the Core! there is enough of it out there in the working society where people are vying each other ultimately so as to earn much more $$ by working less..

But in this committee, there's only one Core Reason why we're together in this group: To Befriend and create Healthy Positive Events for the Youth Deaf.

That's the main objective in my mind.. i did not asked nor beg to be in this Vice President Position.. it was voted and i got chosen, it's that simple.

If not for this incident, i probably won't be blogging about what i do in this committee..

and neither did i  blog to put this guy's reputation for my own sweet revenge (and we Christians don't believe in revenge either)..

if i wanted to, his name probably in CAPSLOCK  and i probably had wrote in his Facebook Wall page...

But nah, what's the point, forgive & forget i will... but the answer, it's obvious.. Trust in working together will no longer exists.. neither does friendship..

Here are my afterthoughts of this whole Incident:

Does Position and Recognition matters that much?!

I got so upset after this incident that i really wants to pull out of this committee cause i never will put myself in a position of position vying.

As mentioned: the Objective is clear... we just want to make a Difference to the Hearing Impaired Youth in S'pore..

This title given means time is set apart to contribute to the Planning..

If one can't get these two above factors at work, attainment of it is to seek to obtain it elsewhere??

To a certain aspect, Humans are emotional be it male or Female, we do want to have our Love tank filled.. truth be told, a pat on the back, a compliment boost up Man's ego and pours affection to a lady.

However should it be done then on the expense of others?

Just like the word, Networking can really be absued if it's applied the wrong way...

We network so our individual expertise can serve another, there's no one superhuman that knows it all or can do it all.. so we need our friends/colleagues/acquaintances to help us along the way.. to give us advice..

Some put it blandly, you're a good networker if u've talents/knowledge others can make use of..& u likewise ensures it's not a one sided affair..

and not simply take take and Take and Ta-Dah disappear into thin air when the other party seeks your help..

If you got what it takes, one can always ultimately get the position you deserved to have..

If you're secured in where your talents lies.. people ain't dumb, they knows it and for all u know, u simply inspired them to do better.

Time maybe the  ultimate challenge but it's the factor that keeps u secure & happy that you got what u worked hard for and it's not at the expense of others.
